The Perfect Getaway

Fall is meant for get away. Getting away from the hustle and bustle of life. I hate monotony. This getaway was all I needed to reflect. The best part was taking my family along. They helped with taking care of the little Bernie and I could take a nap whenever I felt like it. Honestly speaking, there can never be an actual break from motherhood. However I always appreciate help when offered. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to visit a different part of Denmark.  Marielyst Falster is a small town and  a seaside resort some 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) south of Nykøbing on the Danish island of Falster. We rented a beautiful summer house that was very serene and best of all, very baby friendly.

We took walks by the beautiful sandy beach. The town was so quiet and peaceful as it constitutes mostly of summer homes. I preferred visiting this beautiful place during the fall to enjoy the calm. The serenity. We are a family that enjoys cooking. Therefore, we basically made all the food we ate save for midday coffee dates. I also tried Irish coffee for the first time. It’s not a preference to me.

We also visited mønt klint. This was an unplanned hike. My muscles are still sore. These are chalk cliffs on the Danish island of møn. After walking 500 steps down to the beach, we wished there was an elevator to lift us up. The upstairs were not fun but the views down there were all worth. You should check out for my YouTube channel for this hilarious video. My husband enjoyed every bit of it filming us.

On the last day we drove to Nykøbing where we had lunch at Cafe lille torv. Bernie had his first order in a cafe where he had a baby pizza. The food was great and I would recommend it. It was a windy, fall day. The yellow fall leaves on the streets lit up our lives. After five days of bliss and relaxation, we set back to the city. It was a well deserved getaway.

I love you guys.
